Vintage Bronze Mini Hippo with Dusty Patina, Mali, 1960’s

Handmade bronze casting of a miniature hippopotamus with a dusty, time-darkened patina. Circa mid‑20th century and possibly older, the piece bears the slight irregularities and tool marks of handmade production; no two examples are identical. It may be an Ashanti gold weight (mbramoo), historically used to measure gold and gold dust, though that attribution is not confirmed. As a vintage object it may show signs of age and use.
