Vintage Bronze Mini Rhino with Dusty Patina, Mali, 1960’s

Handmade bronze rhinoceros with a compact, simplified form and an aged surface. Circa mid-20th century and possibly older, the miniature bears a light greenish tint and areas of rusty patina consistent with long use. It may be an example of an Ashanti gold weight (mbramoo), objects historically used to measure gold and gold dust. Measures approximately 2" × 1" × 0.5".
